What's changing in our Privacy Policy

We've updated the Housed Privacy Policy. The changes are almost entirely about new premium features in the Housed app: nutrition tracking and meal planning, and a workout tracker and planner that uses AI to build personalised plans.
This page is a plain-English summary. The full policy is at https://housed.com.au/privacy.
The short version
New app features collect nutrition and workout information. You have to opt in, and you can opt out any time.
We've published a full list of every provider involved, and exactly what each one does and doesn't receive.
AI-generated plans are not reviewed by a trainer or dietitian, and are not medical advice.
Your nutrition, workout and AI data is never used for marketing.
You can now export your data and delete your nutrition and workout history on request.
New information we collect (only if you opt in)
If you use the premium app features, we may collect:
Nutrition and dietary information you enter (food logs, calorie intake, meal details)
Exercise history, workout preferences and training data tracked in the app
Body weight, fitness level, equipment availability and training schedule
Injury notes or free-text you choose to provide
Derived health metrics such as calorie-burn estimates
What you give our AI workout and nutrition tools (goals, injuries, preferences, feedback)
Providing this is optional. Leaving it out just means less personalisation.
We've also added a clear statement that we only collect sensitive information, including health information, where you voluntarily give it to us and consent to us using it.
New section on AI and automated processing
Section 5 is entirely new. It explains that we use AI to generate personalised workout plans, training recommendations, food and calorie information, and nutrition guidance.
The important part: AI-generated recommendations are produced automatically and are not reviewed by a qualified trainer, dietitian or health professional before you see them. They're general fitness and nutrition guidance, not medical advice, and they can contain inaccuracies or omissions.
Before acting on any AI-generated plan, consider your own medical history, physical condition, allergies and dietary requirements, and speak to a qualified health professional.
Profiling
The app may analyse your workout history, nutrition information and stated goals to personalise your recommendations. This is used only to improve your training experience and is never used for marketing.
We may also analyse aggregated or de-identified information to improve our products and understand how members use our services. That information doesn't identify you.
Who we share it with (new Schedule 1)
We've published a schedule naming every provider and listing exactly what each receives and, just as importantly, what they don't.
Anthropic (United States) generates your workout plans. Receives your fitness goals, training schedule, equipment availability, fitness level, body weight if provided, and any injury notes. Does not receive your name, email, phone number, member ID, payment information or any other identifying information. Anthropic does not use these inputs to train its public models.
Nutritionix (United States) provides food and calorie information. Receives only the food names or descriptions you type and barcodes you scan. Does not receive your name, contact details, member ID, payment information, nutrition logs or health profile.
Amazon Web Services (Sydney region) hosts your app data. Data stored in AWS remains in Australia unless otherwise stated.
GymMaster (Australia / New Zealand) handles login, membership, billing and club access. No nutrition or AI-related data is shared with GymMaster.
Storage, retention and control
Health and nutrition data collected through the app is stored securely and separately from your general account information.
AI prompts, AI outputs and workout or nutrition records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to generate your plan and keep the service working.
You can opt out of nutrition tracking or AI workout generation at any time.
Your rights have expanded
You could always request access to and correction of your personal information. You can now also:
Request an export of your Housed-stored data
Request deletion of your nutrition logs, workout history, or AI-generated training and nutrition data
Email [email protected] to make either request.
Marketing
We've tightened this section. Marketing communications now expressly depend on your consent, on what's permitted by law, and on the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), rather than the previous blanket opt-in.
Opting out is unchanged: unsubscribe in an email, reply STOP to an SMS, adjust your notification settings, or contact us.
We will never use your nutrition data, workout history or AI-related information for marketing, on top of our existing commitment never to share health or sensitive information for marketing.
Age
We've confirmed that our services are intended for people aged 18 and over.
What hasn't changed
Cookies and website analytics, CCTV and in-club security, our complaints process, and our commitment not to sell or rent your personal information.
